Flagstaff Rollover Accident Law Firm

Rollover accidents are among the deadliest auto accidents. In a rollover, the vehicle literally flips onto its side or its back, throwing the people inside onto hard surfaces, out of the vehicle or into jagged metal and glass created by an impact. As you can imagine, this often leads to death or very serious injuries. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, rollovers were just 2.6% of all crashes in 2006, but 21.6% of crashes that involved a fatality.

Rollovers made headlines in the late 1990s when drivers and safety experts began to realize that certain types of vehicles were especially likely to roll over in a crash. The NHTSA reports that sport-utility vehicles are statistically most likely to roll over, followed by pickup trucks and then vans and cars. In addition, large 15-passenger vans have also been implicated for their higher number of rollover accidents. In some cases, the reasons for the high rollover rates are at least partly in the vehicle's design: A higher center of gravity makes the vehicle easier to tip over during evasive driving maneuvers. And once it's tipped over, the lower federal standards for SUVs and trucks mean that these vehicles' roofs can withstand less pressure before they're crushed by the vehicle's weight.

These problems are defects that the auto manufacturers designed into their vehicles, sometimes even when they knew the risks. And when a manufacturer sells an unsafe, defective product in Arizona, those who are hurt as a result can hold that manufacturer legally responsible for their injuries. If you believe you were in a rollover accident because of these automotive product defects, you should call Breyer Law Offices, P.C.
